Paul V. Ratcliff

ALEXANDER – Paul V. Ratcliff, age 66, of Alexander, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Mr. Ratcliff was born December 27, 1955, and was resident of Buncombe County all of his life.

He was a hard worker. He worked for C & T Paving Company for fifteen years.  He loved his job and his coworkers.  He formed many life-long bonds through his job.   

He also loved his boring time with his wife! Paul and Kathy enjoyed getting out on long drives to anywhere the road would lead. He loved being out in the yard and enjoyed feeding the wildlife such as birds, feral cats, turkeys, deer and bear.  He enjoyed working in his garden, cooking and being in the kitchen.  Paul was a simple man, always with a smile on his face, who loved his simple life.

Paul was the son of the late James William Ratcliff and Alma Moore Ratcliff.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Alan Ratcliff.

Surviving him are his wife of twenty-two years, Kathy Ratcliff; a daughter, Crystal Arnold (Travis); two sons, Andy Curtis and Jeff Wright; sisters, Mary Conner (Don) and Barbara Flynn (Rodney) as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Ratcliff will be held at 4:00pm, Monday, December 12, 2022, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Rash officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the funeral home.
