WEAVERVILLE - If you looked in the sky Wednesday evening and Thursday morning you would have seen a new bright star. Paulene Clark Dreibelbeis, age 87, of Weaverville passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 4, 2015 after falling ill Sunday.
Paulene was born December 24, 1927 in Freeport, IL. She was one of seven children born to the late Dewey and Josie Bast Clark. Mrs. Dreibelbeis volunteered as a Pink Lady at Freeport Memorial Hospital, the Brian Center and at ABCCM, North Buncombe Samaritan Ministries from 1978 until 2014. She was a member of Weaverville United Methodist Church, Weaverville Lions Club and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Robert Dreibelbeis; son, Michael; grandchildren, Amy, Tony, Matt and Rachel; great grandchildren, Abby, Isabella and Elijah; sister, Sue Dieterman of Sterling, IL; brother, Charles Kelly Clark of San Antonio, TX.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, LPN's and CICU staff for the excellent care during Paulene's stay at the hospital.
