WEAVERVILLE—Pauline McDaniel Craig, age 89, of 241 Ox Creek Rd., died Monday, May 3, 2010. Mrs. Craig was born May 22, 1920, in the Bill's Creek Community. She was a member of Carolina Baptist Tabernacle. She was a daughter of the late Enoch and Viola Searcy McDaniel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Craig, who died in 1993; sons, Harry Nelson Craig and Bobby Lee Craig; and brother, Albert McDaniel. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Ballard; siblings, Lottie Craig, Carl McDaniel, Dolan Weatherman, Sue Pritchard, Wayne McDaniel, Ann Blackwell, and Edna Wishon; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Craig's funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Lanny Cobb and Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
