Pauline Rogers Smith

PAULINE ROGERS SMITH WEAVERVILLE—Pauline Rogers Smith, age 89 of 120 Reems Creek Road died July 31, 2008. Mrs. Smith was born August 30, 1918 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church Weaverville, a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for all. Pauline was the daughter of the late Sam and Carrie Smith Rogers. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth C. Smith who died April 2, 1974; sister, Edith Rogers Bishop and sister–in-law and special friend, Callie Smith. Surviving are her nieces and nephew whom she loved as her own children, Deanna Webb and husband Jack, Ronnie Bishop and wife Brenda, Janice Dillingham and husband Jerry and Sandra Bishop-Ray and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Jim McCoy officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. Her great niece and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will be at the residence. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
