PEGGY JEAN MCDOWELL PUGH WEAVERVILLE - Peggy Jean McDowell Pugh passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Friday, October 17, 2014. Peggy was a North Carolina native, born and raised in High Point on July 1, 1946. She was the youngest child of Dr. Charles and Lois McDowell. She loved the Lord all of her life and was avid in serving in local ministries and missions wherever she went. Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Randall Pugh in 1965 and was a caring mother to five children. She had a career, loved her family, and prayed for her world everyday of her life. She was a resident of Weaverville for nearly fifteen years with her husband and served the local community faithfully through organizations like The Cove and her long-time church, Newbridge Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by four of her five children: Peggy Hartman (Dwayne), Charles Pugh (Christina), Jules Christian, and Timothy Pugh (Virginia), sixteen grandchildren, and a host of extended family and loved ones. She will forever be remembered for her cheerful heart and giving soul and the subtle contributions she made to this world. The funeral service will be in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville at 2:30pm on Monday, October 20, 2014 with Reverend Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Flowers are welcome. For those who desire, condolences may be offered to the family under Mrs. Pugh's obituary at www.WestFamilyFuneralServices.com.
