R. Paul Moore

WEAVERVILLE—R. Paul Moore, age 88, of 268 Long's Chapel Rd., died Saturday, January 19, 2013. Mr. Moore was born March 31, 1924 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a retired brick mason and ran Spivey Fishing Lake in Fairview for a number of years. Paul was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. He was the son of the late Walter Moore and Essie Mae Bradley Moore and husband of the late Lois Lane Moore who died in 2008. Surviving are his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Branham of Columbia, SC and Maxine Moore of Weaverville; 10 nieces and nephews and two best buddies, Puddin Hyatt and George Stewart. His graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville is in charge of arrangements.
