Randall "Randy" Lee Franklin

Randall “Randy” Franklin, age 63, of Alexander died Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Mission Hospital.

Randy was born December 18, 1960, in Buncombe County to the late Jake and Shirley Sluder Franklin. He was well known around Alexander for making you cry and laugh at the same time. He was a tree trimmer, farmer, and “jack of all trades”. He loved to ride his lawnmower around the community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Jean Franklin Cole; brother, Ronnie Dean Franklin; and uncles, Wyman Franklin and Buddy Franklin.

Surviving is his daughter, Tonya Hensley (Anthony); sons, Charlie Franklin (Ressie) and Joe Johnson (Kari); sister, Kathy Amos; mother of his children, Patricia Franklin; and eight grandchildren with “one on the way”.

His memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, with Pastor Brian Hanrahan officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
