WEAVERVILLE – Bruce Moore, age 77, of the Reems Creek Community died Friday, June 9, 2017.
Mr. Moore was born June 18, 1939 in Buncombe County, where he had lived most of his life. He worked for 22 years for Perry Alexander Construction Company and retired as a self-employed dump truck driver. Bruce loved bluegrass music; playing the banjo and guitar and he also loved to fish. He was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church, Weaverville. He was the son of the late Raymond and Gladys Swann Moore.
Surviving are his daughter, Cheryl Tipton of Weaverville; sons, Terry Moore and wife Marianne of Landrum, SC and Jeff Moore and wife Wendy of Black Mountain; sisters, Frances Juday of Whittier, CA and Barbara Simmons of Weaverville; brother, Donnie Moore of Enka; grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Trent, Brian, Mark and Autumn and great grandson, Little Brandon.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bruce always loved to say how blessed he was to live in the Reems Creek Community and to have such wonderful neighbors!
