SWANNANOA—Richard "Rick" Stevens, age 54, of Swannanoa died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009. Mr. Stevens was born Jan. 1, 1955, in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He formerly worked at Ingles in Swannanoa. He was the son of Mary Nelms Stevens of Swannanoa and the late George Stevens, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kyra. Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Charles "Charlie" Stevens of Swannanoa; daughter, April Lytle of Swannanoa; sisters, Sharon Dalton, Pat Stevens and Debbie Pettit; brother, George Stevens, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael, Angyl and Jacob; nieces, Tiffany and Amanda; nephews, Christopher, Jason, Scottie and Jeffery. Memorial Services will be held Monday, September 28, 2009 in the Charles D. Owen Park from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
