Richard Wells

GREER, SC – Richard “Dickie” Wells, age 73, of Greer, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Mr. Wells was born February 26, 1948 in Henderson County to Lillian Torrence Moore and the late John Wells. Richard was a resident of Florida; and Greer, SC for the past 19 years.  He retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad. Richard loved fishing, camping, going to the beach, and working on cars.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Evie Fisher Wells; daughters, Sherry Ledbetter and husband Brad, and Stephanie Wells; son, Keith Wells and wife Candace; two sisters, Judith Johnson, and Joyce Rickenbrode and husband Ken;  a brother. Gary Lloyd and wife Emmie;  five grandchildren, Dalton, Ashlee, Matthew, Drew and Kylie; and one great grandchild, Brantley.

His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Jim Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Mainer-Fisher Cemetery, Weaverville.

Per the NC Governor, masks are required inside. Those who choose, may listen to the service on their car radio by tuning into FM 87.7, while in the parking lot of the funeral home.
