BARNARDSVILLE—Ricky Edmonds, age 57, of Paint Fork Rd., died Sunday, June 3, 2012.
Ricky was born April 8, 1955 in Buncombe County where he had all of his life. He was a member of the Baptist denomination. Ricky was the son of Clara Hale Edmonds of Barnardsville and the late Charles W. Edmonds.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 7 years, Betty Burrell Edmonds; daughter, Deidra Edmonds and step-daughter, Stephanie Crowder and her husband Jason of Weaverville, step-daughter, Stacy Dudley of Asheville; son, Jason Edmonds and his wife Nina and step-son Steven Dudley all of Barnardsville; sisters, Peggy Justice and her husband Zane of Weaverville, Shirley Lamb and her husband Charlie of Asheville, Glenda McPeters and her husband Wayne of Barnardsville; 2 granddaughters, Mattie and Kailey; 3 step-grandchildren, Matthew, Hunter, McKenzie; and his mother-in-law, Jo Burrell.
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012, in Lighthouse Baptist Church with the Reverends Robert Reynolds and Will Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
