Rita Arrington Smith

WEAVERVILLE—Rita Arrington Smith, age 59, of McLean Rd., died Thursday, April 11, 2013. Mrs. Smith was born November 23, 1953, in Madison County. She was a homemaker and formerly employed with Microswitch. She was a former member of Arrington Branch Baptist Church and currently a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Cleophus and Dallie "Ted" Willis Arrington. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Orben Smith whom she dearly loved; sister, Ruby Willis of Mars Hill; brother, Earl Arrington of Weaverville; mother-in-law, Catherine Smith of Fletcher; nieces and nephews, Pam Chandler, Larry Willis, and Carol Metcalf. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to services.
