ROBERT L. “BOB” AUTRY WEAVERVILLE – Robert L. “Bob” Autry, age 79, of 10 W. Rolling Acres, Weaverville died Monday, August 22, 2016. Mr. Autry was born March 23, 1937 in Washington, Georgia and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a watch maker and jeweler for more than 60 years. Mr. Autry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former member of First Baptist Church, Weaverville and recently had been attending Woodland Hills Church. Bob enjoyed working on cars and fixing anything. He was the son of the late Robert N. and Mary Lee Mathis Autry, and husband of the late Betty Jane Embler Autry who died in 1992. Surviving are his daughters, Elizabeth Autry of Weaverville, Margaret Autry of Concord; and grandson, Benjamin Robert Hull. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Chris Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Whitaker Cemetery, Barnardsville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
