Roberta Pyle Hudson

WEAVERVILLE – Roberta Rae Pyle (Robbie) Hudson, age 60, entered into rest with the Lord on Monday, October 14, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1964, in New Rochelle, NY to the late Robert Edgar and Betty Loraine Ray Pyle.

Robbie touched so many lives as a Pre-K teacher for 25 years. Throughout her life, Robbie was the living embodiment of “Relentless,” the nickname she was given as a child. She was relentless in her faith, her encouragement of her students, and her love for her family. She was also relentless in tackling several health issues that, each alone, would have seemed an insurmountable obstacle for most people. 

Witty, with a sarcastic sense of humor and an infectious laugh, she was small in stature but large in life. Her devotion to family resulted in snarky cards for the adults and silly gifts for the littles; she never missed an opportunity to love her people. Surrounded by the overly serious, she reminded us to lighten up and enjoy. (And buy the thing, for Pete’s sake!)

Left to cherish and celebrate her memory are her husband of 35 years, Jeffrey Charles (Jeff) Hudson; brother, Paul Thomas Pyle and wife Sabrina; sister, Susan Ann Pyle Clark and husband Bill; nieces, Grace Loraine Pyle, and Olivia Alexandra Healy and husband Marshall; nephew, Charles Thomas Perry and wife Lauren; great nieces, Tessa Maxine Perry, Rowan Loraine Healy, and Ellie Lynn Healy; and great nephew, Miles Barnett Perry.

Robbie’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville with Rev. Skip Gillikin officiating. The family will receive friends there one hour prior to the service.
