WOODFIN—Robinson H. "Robin" Hunter, 94, of Asheville, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
Mr. Hunter was born April 14, 1917, in Madison County. He retired from Southern Concrete. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Elkwood United Methodist Church. Robin enjoyed chair caning for many years. He was the son of the late Leonard Grant and Mary Ethel Guthrie Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nedra Gill Hunter who died in 1995.
Surviving are his daughters, Joan Long and husband Charlie of Asheville, Pat Whitt and husband Gerald of Candler; son, Bob Hunter and wife Sandy of Holden Beach; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28, 2011, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Enoch Ball and Don Burchette officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at West Funeral Home.
