WEAVERVILLE - Roger D. Dillingham, age 68 of Weaverville died Friday, August 1, 2014.
Roger was born June 6, 1946 in Washington, DC and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1972. A US Army Veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was employed at Asheville Parks and Recreation for several years. Son of the late Ralph E. and Mildred Davis Dillingham, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy and Ronnie Dillingham.
Surviving are his daughter, Kelly Jean Dillingham of Longmont, CO; sons, MAJ Shawn W. Dillingham and wife Ericka serving in Germany, and Scott A. Dillingham of Westminster, CO; sister, Judy Dillingham and husband Hoyte of Barnardsville; and four grandsons, Austin E. Shaeffer, Cuchulainn, Cian and Eli Dillingham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
Private burial will take place at a later date in Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery, Black Mountain.
