RONNIE W. DUYCK, SR. WEAVERVILLE - Ronnie W. Duyck, Sr., age 83, of 665 Clark's Chapel Road passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Mr. Duyck was born November 20, 1931 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was founder and CEO of Duyck Construction Company, established in 1963. Ronnie enjoyed playing golf, working in the yard, was a master carpenter and an avid reader. He was the son of the late Oscar W. and Martha Rice Duyck and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Duyck, Alma Buckner, and Agnes Revis; and brothers, Harold and Paul Duyck. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Peggy Morgan Duyck; daughters, Debra Duyck Silver and husband Dennis, and Diane Duyck Cole; son, Ron Duyck, Jr. and wife Deborah, all of Weaverville; eight grandchildren, Dion, Travis, Morgan, Brent, Reagan, Shawn, Brittany, and Whitney; and eight great grandchildren, Davis, Holden, Lawson, Dagen, Merritt, Carter, Kasen, and Miles. His service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Jerry Jamerson officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Morgan Hill Baptist Church, 594 Barnardsville Hwy., Weaverville, NC 28787.
