Roscoe Hensley

WOODFIN—Roscoe Hensley, age 74, of 31 Barton Rd., died Monday, June 4, 2012. Roscoe was born April 25, 1938, in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired from the Woodfin Water Department after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Embra S. and Mary Mathis Hensley. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Tesner Hensley; son, Mark Hensley and wife Angela of Mills River; sister, Billie Mason and husband Albert of Woodfin; brothers, Russell Hensley and wife Betty and Jerome Hensley and wife Paula, all of Woodfin; niece, Melissa Shook and husband Mark; nephews, Justin and Cody Shook; and his cats, Fancy, Molly, Kitty Cat, and Morris. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Don Burchette officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
