Rose Ann Webb Sheppard

WEAVERVILLE—Rose Ann Webb Sheppard, age 98, of Weaverville died Thursday, December 16, 2010. Mrs. Sheppard was born January 8, 1912, in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1940. She attended Dorland Bell School in Hot Springs. Mrs. Sheppard was a member of Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Webb and Susanna "Sucky" Higgins Webb; son, Emory Lewis Sheppard; sister, Linda Silver; brothers, Lewis and Vance Webb. Surviving are her son, Robert Sheppard and wife Priscilla of Weaverville; nieces, Vanetta Cooper, Helen McCurry, Olean White, and Elizabeth Buckner; nephews, Bobby Webb and David Webb; grandchildren, Alan Sheppard and wife Tonya, Barry Sheppard, Chris Sheppard and wife Teresa, Kelly Farmer and husband Jeff; great grandchildren, Christian Sheppard, Scarlett Sheppard, Tanner Sheppard, and Samantha Sheppard; and special devoted friend, Leeila Fender. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2010, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Ray Kiess officiating. Burial will be in Clark's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
