ROY HAROLD BAILEY WOODFIN - Roy Harold Bailey, age 79 of 305 Weaverville Rd, died Monday, March 31, 2014. Mr. Bailey was born August 16, 1934 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a retired farmer and formerly employed with Mission Hospitals. Roy was the son of the late Laney M. and Estella Jones Bailey. He was a loving husband and father who will be missed by all of his family. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Margaret Queen Bailey; daughter, Delores Rogers and husband Eric of Candler; son, Rodney Bailey of Woodfin; sisters, Bromia Teague of Leicester, Reva Ball of Marshall, and Ruth Buckner of Leicester; brothers, Bill Bailey of Michigan and Jack Bailey of Weaverville; and two grandchildren, Jeff and Jordan Malone both of Weaverville. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Burial will be in Bailey Family Cemetery, Marshall. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Asheville Nursing and Rehabilitation Staff.
