WOODFIN - Beloved mother Ruby Marie Ducker of Woodfin died Monday, May 11, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center with her family by her side.
Mrs. Ducker was born December 4, 1935 to the late Jonah and Mae Williams Lunsford in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She had worked for Square D Company for 26 years. Ruby attended Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church and loved being a member of the Harvest House in Asheville. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sister, Hazel Ducker; brothers, Grady, Earl and Leonard "Bud" Lunsford.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Hilda Edwards and husband Jim of Alexander, Darlene Melton and husband Marvin of Denver, NC; son, Terry Ducker and wife Rebecca of Weaverville; four grandchildren, Amy Klug and husband Mark of Washington, DC, Emme and Mercedes Ducker of Weaverville, Andrew Melton of Denver, NC; one great grandchild, John Mathis Klug; two brothers, Wayne Lunsford of Asheville and Morris Lunsford of Woodfin; and sister-in-law, Irene Maxwell of Weaverville.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Dr. Larry Melton officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
At other times the family will be at the home of Jim and Hilda Edwards, 889 Old NC 20, Alexander, NC.
Flowers are acceptable.
