ASHEVILLE – Ruby Norton Sprinkle, age 89, of Asheville, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
Mrs. Sprinkle was born May 19, 1928 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a deeply religious woman who loved God and the life He gave her. Ruby was a homemaker, which allowed her to be closer to her family that she loved dearly. She was the daughter of the late James and Mafrey Wheeler Norton and wife to the late Harley Sprinkle who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Nellie Rice, Estoy Haney, Vaudia Gunnell and son-in-law, Yates King.
Surviving are her daughters, Jewell Jackson and husband George, Kathy King, Teresa Baldwin and husband Tim; brother, Stokley Norton and wife Clara; grandchildren, Alisa Goldsmith and husband Stacey, Michelle King, Chelsea Baldwin and Chad Eckerich; great-grandchildren, Jessica Goldsmith, Caleb Bucklew, Everett McAuliffe and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at, 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Pastor Larry Nix officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
The family will receive friends and family from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
