Ruth E. Rice

WEAVERVILLE – Ruth E. Rice, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023, after her battle with cancer.  She was born June 15, 1947, in Buncombe County where she lived all her life.

Ruth worked all her life until her health no longer allowed.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.  A dedicated Christian, she was a member of Baird’s Cove Baptist Church until it closed. 

She was the daughter of the late Lucius Rice and Leithy Arrington.  She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Thelma Clark, J.D. Rice, Esther Rice, Georgia Hensley and Junior Rice.

Surviving her are her daughter, Angela Rice; grandchildren, Delia Robles, Keridah Robles, Justin Rice, Vincent Lee II; great-grandchildren, Spencer Lee, Kendall Rice and Tristan Rice; sisters, Nancy Lunsford, Tina Rector, Ruby McEntire; and brother, Carlos Rice. 

A Memorial Service will be held 2pm, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Ivy Creek Baptist, 21 Ivy Baptist Road, Weaverville, NC 28787.  Reverend Larry Rogers will be officiating.
