WEAVERVILLE—Ruth Ballard Wilson, age 89, of Weaverville, died Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Mrs. Wilson was born April 8, 1924, in Reems Creek where she had lived all of her life. She graduated from Weaverville High School as salutatorian, and attended Blanton's Business College. She retired from Mills Manufacturing. A member of Beech-Glen Baptist Church, she attended South Fork Methodist Church where she was pianist and Sunday School teacher. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cora Roberts Hyatt; first husband, Marshall H. Ballard who died in 1986; second husband, William Albert Wilson who died in 2011; daughter, Louise Jones and her husband Vernon; and sister, Jean Tweed.
Surviving are her son, Bruce Ballard and wife Alice and their daughters, Bridget Fonseca and husband Roy and Alicia Ballard; Louise and Vernon's children, Chadwick Marshall Jones and wife Jennifer, and Carmen Jones; great grandchildren, Marshall and Max Fonseca, Peyton Ballard, and Christian Jones; step-sons, Duane Wilson and wife Angela and Kevin Wilson and wife Linda.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
