SADIE TWEED THOMPSON WEST ASHEVILLE - Sadie Tweed Thompson, age 83 of West Asheville died Saturday, June 27, 2015. Mrs. Thompson was born May 19, 1932 in Madison County to the late Elmer and Dorothy Tweed. She was a resident of Madison and Buncombe Counties for most of her life. Mrs. Thompson loved decorating, fashion, and the Lord. She attended the Church of God in Madison County and was a strong supporter and follower of Jimmy Swaggart. Mrs. Thompson hopes to see all her friends and family in Heaven. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, Ricky Caldwell; granddaughter, Cantarna Reeves; four sisters and seven brothers. Surviving are her husband of 29 years Donald R. Thompson; daughter, Vicky Lynn Reeves and husband Jerry of Leicester; sisters, Dorothy Williams also of Leicester, Betty Blackwell and husband David of Alexander; grandchildren, Jeff and Jeremy Reeves; great grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Emily and Scarlett Reeves; along with several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Jimmy Dean Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Vicky Reeves, 114 Bob Wells Rd., Leicester, NC 28748. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
