SHIRLEY ANN GIBSON SMITH ASHEVILLE – Shirley Ann Gibson Smith, age 62, of Asheville, died Friday, February 19, 2016. Mrs. Smith was born May 13, 1953, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Dean Gibson and was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Gibson. Surviving are her mother, Rosa Lavada Davis Gibson of Asheville; sons, Lawrence David Smith of Asheville, and Benjamin Dale Smith of Easley; sisters, Brenda Shelton of Weaverville, Joan McKinney of Marion, and Carolyn Marvulli of Leicester; brother, Larry Gibson of MO.; and grandchildren, Alisa Smith and Luke Smith. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Gary Fox officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to West Funeral Home, P.O.
