Shirley Kent Pegg

WEAVERVILLE—Shirley Kent Pegg, age 74, of 69 Pegg Rd., went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2012. Mrs. Pegg was born July 15, 1938 in Millwood, Va. She was a resident of Florida for 12 years before moving to Buncombe County in 1993. She was a former member of Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Anna Willingham Kent. Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Samuel C. Pegg, Jr.; sons, Damien "D. J." Sours and wife Darlene of Asheville, Darrell Sours of Decatur, GA, Derrick Pegg of Asheville; and granddaughter Peyton. NOTE CHANGE FROM GRAVESIDE TO CHAPEL SERVICE: Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Worth Emory officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
