SOOK MIN
ASHEVILLE—Sook Min, 52, of Asheville, died May 15, 2009, unexpectedly.
Sook was born March 5, 1957 in South Korea. She had lived in Germany for three years before moving to Washington, DC, where she lived from 1985-1987. She lived in New York City from 1987-2001, when she moved to Asheville and lived there since that time.
Sook was a clinical social worker for many years. She loved gardening, quilting and crafts of all kinds. Sook also loved traveling, cooking and making clothes. She would take an ordinary object and turn it into something uniquely hers.
Sook is the daughter of the late Jong-kyu Min. Surviving are one daughter, Sophie Mullinax of Asheville; her mother, Ye-kun Kwak; three sisters, Eun-Sook Min, Jong-Ja Min, and Young-Hee Min; and one brother, Kyong-il Min; all of Korea.
There will be a gathering of friends from 3:00—5:00 P.M. Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, with a sharing of memories at 4:00 P.M.
