Stanley Darrell Camby

WEAVERVILLE – Stanley Darrell Camby, 71, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2022 at the Solace Center in Asheville.

A native of Buncombe County, Stanley was the son of the late Luther Camby, Jr. and Ruth McLemore Camby. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Tony, Steve and Terry Camby.

Stanley was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a hardworking man who beat cancer on two different occasions. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed baseball, football, the UNC Tarheels and Clemson Tigers.

   He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Grindstaff; two sons, Joey and Shane Camby, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, Pam Camby.

   A funeral service will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Allen Rash will officiate. Burial will be in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2:30pm at the funeral home.
