Stella Penland Edwards

Stella Penland Edwards, age 79, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord, Monday, September 2, 2024.

Stella was born August 9, 1945, in Buncombe County to the late Claude and Vera Pounders Penland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edwards who died in 2023.

She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Surviving is her daughter, Tara McDaris and husband Matthew; son, Jeff Edwards and wife Carol; sisters and best friends, Carolyn Dutton, Doris Penland, Genevieve VeHaun and husband Jerry, and Sandra Mundy and husband Roger; grandchildren, Noah Edwards, Isaac Edwards and wife Lyndsay, Logan McDaris, and Kinsey McDaris; and two great grandsons, Frankie and Bo Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards’ graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC 28804. Reverend Derrick Rash will officiate.
