STEVE "BURGIE" BURLESON WEAVERVILLE - Steve "Burgie" Burleson, age 66 of 466 Reems Creek Road died Monday, October 12, 2015. Mr. Burleson was born December 1, 1948 in Buncombe County to James "Jim" Burleson and Josephine Mae Burnette Burleson. Steve served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from American Red Cross and attended Lake Hills Church, Candler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Lisa Burleson. Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Brigman; sons, Samuel Burleson and wife Erin, Saul Burleson and wife Molly; mother of his children, Sonia Huntley Burleson; sisters, Diane LeBaeu and husband Jack, Kay Duggins and husband Larry; brother, Bobby Burleson and wife Jaine; grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Hope and Hitch Brigman, Andrew Burleson, Eve and Seth Burleson, Alex and Feliciti Ashworth. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Pastor Ronald Dodson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
