TED BAYNARD ASHEVILLE – Ted Baynard, age 82 of Baird’s Cove Road died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home. Mr. Baynard was born August 21, 1933 in Transylvania County, and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. Ted was retired from Asheville Waste Paper. He loved fishing and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Helen Mease Baynard; his beloved wife of 60 years Ruby Wright Baynard who died in 2015; sister, Alma Morgan and her husband Bruce; father and mother in law, Carl and Alda Duncan Wright; and brother in law George Courtney. Surviving are his daughter, Rosa Maynor and husband Keith; son, Dean Baynard and wife Angela all of Barnardsville; sisters, Aleen Courtney of Rockwood, Mich., Mary Helen Hyder and husband Jere of Hendersonville; brothers, Ed Baynard and wife Betty, of Hendersonville, L.C. Baynard and wife Helen of Romulus, Mich., Chris Baynard of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Cindy Marshall and husband Michael of Asheville, Melisa Hensley and husband Shane of Asheville, Brandon Maynor and girlfriend Amy Anders of Dandridge, TN; great grandchildren, Makayla, Kyra, Natalie, Alayna, Kylie, and Jackson. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Nelson Ponder officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
