Thelma Penland

CANDLER - Thelma Penland, age 87, of Ballard Cove Road died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Brian Center in Weaverville. Mrs. Penland was born July 10, 1927 in Haywood County. She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. Mrs. Penland was a Registered Nurse and attended church at Mount Moriah and Gashes Creek. In addition to her parents, Garland Reece and Lethia Miller Reece, she was preceded death by 3 husbands. Surviving are her daughter, Sissy Harrington of Florida; sons, Robert Dodge of Michigan, Charles Dodge of Candler, Allen Gay of Candler, and Eddie Harrington of Florida; four grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. A gathering of friends will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home.
