ASHEVILLE/GREENSBURG, KANSAS—
Thomas Haney, Jr., died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at his home south of Greensburg.
He was born March 26, 1926 in Grayson, Ky. the son of Thomas Sr. and Emma Violet LeMaster Haney. He lived in Chicago, Ill., Lincoln, Neb., Kansas City, Mo., Asheville, N.C. and Greensburg, Kan. since 2002. Thomas was an electronic engineer, employed by Western Electric for 35 years before retiring. He served in the United States Navy, and was a veteran of World War II. On February 14, 1945, Thomas married Estoy Jean Norton, in Portsmouth, Va. Jean preceded him in death September 13, 2000 as well as his brother, Victor Haney.
Surviving is his son, Harold Bruce Haney and wife Teri of Lexington Okla.; three daughters, Patsy Schmidt and husband Joel and Brenda Cradick both of Greensburg, Kan., and Jill Haney of Noble, Okla.; one brother, Joe Haney of N.C.; sister, Jean Shelton of Bland, Va.; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in West Memorial Park.
