THOMAS EDGAR SHEPHERD, JR. BARNARDSVILLE – Thomas Edgar Shepherd, Jr., age 35 of Poverty Branch Road died Monday, March 14, 2016. Thomas was born June 28, 1980 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He retired from Buncombe County as an accountant. Thomas was a member of Dillingham Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed that which God created; the mountains, hunting, fishing and ginsenging. Thomas was the son of Thomas Edgar Shepherd, Sr. and Robin Clinton Shepherd of Barnardsville. His paternal grandfather, William “Bill” Edgar Shepherd preceded him in death. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Crystal Hendrix Shepherd; daughter, Camryn Shepherd son, Jake Shepherd; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Barbara Clinton all of Barnardsville; paternal grandmother, Margaret O’Donnell Shepherd of Candler; sister, Amanda Shepherd Kemp and husband Phillip of Jonesboro, TN; brother, Clint Shepherd and wife Brittnee also of Barnardsville; mother-in-law, Pamela Hendrix of Asheville and many extended family members. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Dillingham Presbyterian Church with Rev.’s Richard Hicks and Mark Bullman officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Edgar Shepherd, Jr. Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at West Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of his parents, Tommy and Robin Shepherd, 32 Open Range Drive, Barnardsville.
