Tilson DeBruhl

WEAVERVILLE—Tilson DeBruhl, age 84, of Weaverville, died Monday, November 7, 2011. Mr. DeBruhl was born November 26, 1926, in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. Tilson retired from American Enka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edna Sprinkle DeBruhl; sister, Johnnie Smith; brothers, Byron DeBruhl and Z.V. DeBruhl. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Edna McMahan DeBruhl; daughter, Pam Rhea and husband Hal of Weaverville; son, Mike DeBruhl and wife Martha of Weaverville; sisters, Wauline Riddle of Alexander and Lois Atkins of Weaverville; grandchildren, Jennifer McKnight and husband Gene, Brandon DeBruhl; and several nieces and nephews. His graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.
