Troy David Banks

Troy David Banks, age 75, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a long illness of COPD.

David was born September 26, 1949, in Buncombe County to Troy J. Banks and the late Betty Grace Roberts Banks. He lived all his life in Buncombe County. A graduate of North Buncombe High School and AB Tech; he retired from Honeywell, Micro Switch.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Riddle.

Surviving in addition to his father, is his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Riddle Banks, daughters Christy McCary (Rob) and Kelly Banks, grandchildren, Brittany Whitlock, Brandon Boone, and Emily McCary; great grandchildren, Natalee Boone and Tyler Whitlock; sisters, Sandra Banks Koontz (Dan) and Elaine Ingle (David); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at GracePoint Church, 50 Woodland Hills Road, Asheville, NC 28804. Reverend Neil Montgomery, Reverend Bob Belford, and nephew, Peter Koontz will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the funeral at the church.
