VANCE TP CARVER FENTON, MICH.—Vance TP Carver, age 83, of Fenton, Mich., died Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Mr. Carver was born May 10, 1925 in Madison County and was a resident of Michigan for 56 years. Vance was a retired steel worker and served in the US Navy during World War II. His parents, Mont and Pearl Witt Carver, as well as his wife, Gladys Rice Carver; one sister and four brothers preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughters, Jean Wright of Fenton, Mich., Peggy Rice of Candler, Veta Ruck of Fenton, Mich. and Sandra Felts of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; sons, Coye Carver of Farmington Hills, Mich. and Calvin Carver of Carrollton, Texas; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Everette Haney officiating. Burial will be in French Broad Baptist Church Cemetery, Alexander. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
