Virginia W. Bailey

ASHEVILLE—Virginia W. Bailey, age 90, of 25 Dysart St., went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Virginia was born January 12, 1922, in Buncombe County. She retired from Ivey's Department Store after 47 years. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burgin and Maude Ball Williams. Surviving are her son, Sammy Bailey and wife Barina of Candler; grandson, Mike Bailey and wife Heather and great grandson, Ian Bailey, of Chandler, Ariz; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Judy Chandler Russell and her husband Dennis, their son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Amy Russell. Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at the home of Sammy and Barina Bailey, 4 Tanager Ct., Candler, NC 28715.
