Virginia Williams Morton

WEAVERVILLE—Virginia Williams Morton, age 85, of Weaverville, died Sunday, June 26, 2011. Mrs. Morton was born October 17, 1925, in Buncombe County. She was a wife, mom and grandmother who loved her family. She was the daughter of the late William Roy and Carol Hensley Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Morton who died in 1998; and brother, Paul Williams. Surviving are her son, Gary C. Morton and wife Caroleen of Weaverville; daughters, Deborah Duyck and husband Ron of Asheville, and Dedra Dillingham and husband Steve of Weaverville; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, in Weaverville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers are welcome.
