BARNARDSVILLE– Vivian Sue Dillingham, age 67, of Dillingham Road died Friday, September 28, 2018.
Vivian was born June 25, 1951 in Buncombe County to the late Rupert Lee Dillingham and Elizabeth Mitchell Dillingham Brewer. She was a resident of Chapel Hill for a number of years before returning home 25 years ago. A graduate of Lee Edwards High School and of East Carolina University, she was an accountant formerly working at Ohio Electric and later at CarePartners. Vivian was co-owner of Mountain Valley Retirement in Barnardsville. She attended Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading and was blessed to have many friends that she loved dearly.
Surviving are her sister, Anne Dillingham of Weaverville; niece, Erin Whitley Hawks and husband Michael of Raleigh; nephew, Paul Richard “Rich” Whitley, Jr. of Barnardsville; and her beloved dog Oreo.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Martina Barnes will officiate. Burial will follow in Absalom-Dillingham Cemetery, Barnardsville.
The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Vivian would always say to her reunion friends, "See you in 5".
