Walter David Moore

SWANNANOA – Walter D. Moore, age 80, of Swannanoa died Wednesday May 4, 2016. Mr. Moore was born May 15, 1935 in McDowell County to the late Walter Henry Moore and Julia Mae Connor Moore. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had been a resident of Buncombe County since 1986 and retired from Beacon Mfg. and had also worked in the elevator trade for 20 year. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Owensby Moore, who died in 2015; and brothers, Robert O. Moore and Larry Bruce Moore. Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Gail Moore Robinson; sons, James David Moore and Bobby Neal Moore; former wife and mother to their children, Mabel Moore; and brothers, Gary E. Moore, Donald E. Moore and Henry S. Moore. His graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 in Sky View Memorial Park with Rev. James Walker officiating.
