Wanda Buckner Arrington

WEAVERVILLE—Wanda Buckner Arrington, age 63, of 312 Jupiter Rd., died Monday, April 26, 2010. Wanda was born December 5, 1946, in Buncombe County. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved cooking. She was a lifelong member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with the homebound ministry. She had a passion caring for elderly people. Wanda was a daughter of the late Ralph Noah and Mary Elizabeth Justice Buckner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Buckner, Jr., and her twin, Wilma Sue Buckner. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Earl Arrington; daughter, Pamela Chandler and husband Warren of Weaverville; sisters, Mary Jo Smith, Carolyn Evans, Linda Reavis; grandchildren, Noah, Hannah and Ayden Chandler; nieces, Lisa, Kim, Deanna, and Kristy; nephew, Mark. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010, in Locust Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Ben Whitmire, Dr. Walter Ponder and Rev. Ronald Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
