Wayne L. Hensel

WAYNE L. HENSEL WEAVERVILLE - Wayne L. Hensel, age 82, of Jupiter Rd. died Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Mr. Hensel was born November 23, 1931 in PA and was a resident of Buncombe County for a number of years. He was a retired independent truck driver and also drove for Leicester Supply. Wayne was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church serving as a deacon in addition to singing in the choir. Wayne was a son of the late Charles L. and Lola Fetrow Hensel; he was also preceded in death by sister, Winifred Westhafer. Surviving are his wife, Illa Roberts Hensel; sister, Vivian Ritter; brothers Bud Hensel and Marlin Hensel; stepdaughters, Kimberly Rice and husband Jerry Rice, III, their children, Kathy Meyers and husband Brad, their children and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Flat Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Hanrahan officiating.
