ARDEN – Charles Wendell Wilson, age 67, of Arden, completed his final journey Wednesday, December 23, 2020 after a long courageous fight with cancer.
Wendell was born August 29, 1953 in Rutherford County to the late Charles Alexander Wilson and Lemelia Gryder Wilson Penley; he was a resident of Buncombe County all of his life. He was a service writer with Matthews Ford, and later with Ken Wilson Ford. Wendell loved to fish, grill, play with his dogs and spend time with his family. He also loved his extended family and friends who he took under his wing.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, James Danny Wilson.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Cynthia McMahan Wilson who he loved without holding back; he cherished her, their love and forever friendship; two daughters, Lindsey and Heather Wilson all of Arden; a brother, Timothy Scott Wilson and wife Amy of Charlotte; two grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart and soul, Cordaya Horne, and Kyson Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville. Minister Datrian Johnson will officiate. Burial will be pivate.
West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
