WENDY BROWN
WEAVERVILLE - Wendy Brown, age 63, of 300 Chimney Rock Dr., died Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home.
Wendy was born August 14, 1950 in Kingsport, TN and was a resident of Western North Carolina most of her life. She was a professional artist specializing in our beautiful Western North Carolina landscapes. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Weaverville Ward. Her life revolved around her family, her church, her art and serving others. Wendy was a daughter of the late James Oliver and Winifred Welden Grigsby.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, J. Russell Brown; daughters, Robyn Wrae Brown of Hendersonville, Tracie LeeAnn Brown of Raleigh, and Melinda Anne Huber of Raleigh; sons, Jason Andrew Brown and wife Amy Holt Brown of Windsor, CO and Adam Curtis Brown of Pheonix, AZ; brothers, Jim Grigsby and wife Elizabeth of Macon, GA and David O. Grigsby and wife Mary Ellen of Jamestown, TN; sister, Angie Dickens and husband Tom of Marietta, GA ; grandchildren, Alexis, Ashtyn, Alyssa, Jantzen, Tyler, Aubrey, and Jarrett and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Asheville Ward, 3401 Sweeten Creek Rd, Asheville, NC with Bishop Mark Sanner of the Weaverville Ward officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville.
