WILLIAM FRANCIS "BILL" CONBOY ASHEVILLE - God called William Francis "Bill" Conboy, age 76, of 26 Barton Road, home on Friday, May 30, 2014. Mr. Conboy was born April 20, 1938 in Albany, NY and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1992. Bill made his career in the microelectronics industry, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was the son of the late William F. and Katherine O'Conner Conboy. Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Janice Melton Conboy; daughter, Kelly Ross of Plum Island, Mass.; sons, Tim Conboy and wife Gerri of Nashville, IN, Sean Conboy and wife Debbie of Edmonston, NY, Darren Conboy of Greenville, SC, Ryan Conboy and wife Cindy also of Greenville, SC; step-son, Shane Crawford and wife Jennifer of Joplan, MO; brother, Lawrence "Larry" Conboy and wife Lillian of Schenectady, NY; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; beloved cat, Morris; and caregiver and friend, Betty Buckner. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014, in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain with military honors. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers are welcome.
