WEAVERVILLE—Wilma Duck Yelton, 97, of Weaverville died Monday, July 18, 2011.
She was born June 30, 1914, to Elizabeth Scoggins Duck and James Horace Duck in Madison County. Mrs. Yelton had lived most of her life at 217 Jupiter Road in Weaverville. She was married to William Clarence Yelton who preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Irene Duck Irvine of Washington, DC, and Johnsie Lee Duck Hunter of Fairview.
She is survived by a brother, D.L. Duyck and wife Mae of Waco, Texas. Also surviving are sons, Don Yelton and wife Deborah of Weaverville, and Dwight Yelton and wife Margie of Asheville; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, all of the Asheville area; and three nieces.
At Mrs. Yelton's request, services will be graveside only on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville.
