BLACK MOUNTAIN—Yvonne Carson Hutchins, age 83, of 115 Old State 10 Road died Saturday, April 17, 2010.
Mrs. Hutchins was born June 14, 1926 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Oscar Lee and Mabel Brown Carson. She had been a resident of Buncombe County since she was 29 years old. After 24 years of service she retired from Blue Ridge Mental Health. Mrs. Hutchins was a member of Kerlee Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, former State Representative Edley Hutchins who died in 1989.
Surviving are her daughter Sandra H. Smith and husband Ron of Old Fort; sons, Philip Hutchins and wife Maria of Black Mountain and Eric Hutchins also of Black Mountain; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hutchins' graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21st in Absalom Dillingham Cemetery, Barnardsville with Rev. Kenneth Rhinehart officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. At other times the family will be at the residence.
