ZERTHA BANKS DILLINGHAM
ASHEVILLE - The body of Zertha Banks Dillingham, age 99, of 135 Flower Garden Drive passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 and her spirit went to sleep in Jesus.
Mrs. Dillingham was born January 28, 1915 in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. A 1935 graduate of Barnardsville High School, Zertha worked in the C.C. Camp in the 1940's. She was formerly employed at Mack's Variety store in Black Mountain. An avid quilter, flower gardener, active in church and a faithful prayer warrior. Her husband Lyman E. Dillingham and her parents Charlie H. and Fannie Mae Allen Banks preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Mousaw of Phoenix, AZ, Rita Moulton and husband "Smokey" of Lennon, MI, and Susie Enloe of Hendersonville; sons, Gary Dillingham of Asheville, Ronald Dillingham and wife LaVon of Weaverville, and Leo Dillingham and wife Lora of Weaverville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014, at John F. Dillingham Cemetery, with Revs. Tom Pethtel, David Plemmons, and Kenny Stump officiating. Burial will be at the Cemetery.
